Annual Art Show, Saturday Feb. 21.
Entry forms and information about the Art Show are now available at the Winthrop Library. The categories for judging will include many forms of needlework, folk art, wood working, and visual arts. There will be prizes awarded for the High School ages and older. Younger entrants will receive a ribbon.
Incentive Reading Program Continues
Kids: Sign up to read for 20 minutes, five times and you will receive a prize of your choice from the prize basket. You may continue to read and get prizes through March. Adults are also reading for prizes. They will get a prize for every four books read.
Knitting
Knitting will continue on Tuesday afternoons at 4 p.m. Start a project, or get help with a project on which you are already working. The group meets in the library. New knitters are welcome--instruction is available. This is a fun and casual hour--and a snack is provided.
February Reading Groups
The adult book group selection will be Julie and Julia by Julie Powell. In the space of one year, the author will cook every recipe (all 524 of them) in the Julia Child classic: Mastering the Art of French Cooking . The book details her adventure in cooking. The group meets on Wed. Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m.
The junior book group will be reading Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn. They will discuss other favorite books as well. The group meets on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 4:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome at these groups and copies of the books are available at the library.
The library will be CLOSED on Monday, February 16, Presidents' Day.
